  1. Looks like a DaDa mirror to me. What is not nothing?

  2. I have to admit that the philosophy expressed here seems out of touch. But the context is almost 100 years ago - the art world was becoming very confused at that time and has been suffering the nightmare of a lost identity evert since -- and unfortunately it has not awaked yet.

  3. not dada -- russian futurism out of which suprematists came with a focus on zero not as nothing but something. zuam = beyond the mind. zero

  4. Hi Karl,
I find much of the Suprematists text to be rather cumbersome especially dealing with the concept of emptiness and using geometry (a mental construct) to point at such. The Zen texts are much more cogent at providing a understanding of emptiness.
    Thanks

  7. remember, japan was unfriendly territory for russia. futurists looked south to india in part. also zen unknown or hardly known or understood in west until later. ernest fenollosa and ezra pound helped open the door to chinese poetry late teens. tho with a misinformed understanding of the ideogram.
