Hi My name is Angie and I just stumbled recently upon this blog looking for poetry sites. I recently went back to school and while I had always been artistic in scholarly pursuits before I am aiming to the scientific this time. I had to start somewhere and college Algebra was one such place. I found to my total amazement that I enjoyed working with the numbers and the elegance of the simple formulas and proofs that occur at what is, I realise, such an elementary stage, quite astounding. The thought of Mathematical Poetry is intriguing and I just love this axiomatic poetry. I read through the proof that the Cat is not God of itself too although it is quite beyond my level of understanding it all. Congrats to this piece for being accepted at the Bridges Show.

I did try one myself -- frustrated at there being nothing in the "news" except political posturing, this was still what came to mind.

Does it work? Or is the concept too beyond me? If so does it mean he will win the nomination? Ha Ha. Thanks for reading. I will continue to read the blog and learn more about this concept. Even if this is just dumb...

1.Obama is a Democrat
2.If x is a Democrat, the follower of x is also a Democrat
3.Obama is not the follower of any Democrat
4.If two Democrats have equal followers they are equal
5.If a set of Democrats contains the Democrat Obama and it contains all the followers of its members the set contains all the Democrats

Best Regards

Angie

Hi Angie
Thanks for dropping by ... Yes your axioms are good if Obama is defined as the first democrat.

Thanks Kaz. This is the first time I would be attending an international event. I hope that it would be a wonderful experience. Also, I am young and I need guidance so that I can explore new areas.
Thanks once again.
:-)

Thanks Kaz. I'm going to blog about your blog because I find it so fascinating. My blog is new and I don't get many readers right now but you never know - it might inspire someone one day. I suppose I'll change my poem to Jefferson to make it more viable. I love the similar traingle poems you've been posting by the way.

Thanks Angie!
If you make any similar triangles poems please send them to me. I would love to see them.
Thanks,
Kaz

This is a strange place. Im all for maths, dont get me wrong. Anyone who's any good at maths needs to make it part of themself but democrats? Abraham? maths is made a cliche with these comparisons. Everything can be expressed in maths but some things shouldnt. Just make a billboard with euler's formula
